First Time Fans

For all families who have been looking into coming to The Memorial Stadium for the first time, we have written a rough timeline of the day that you can follow to ensure you have the best possible experience on your first visit!

BEFORE MATCHDAY

Secure your tickets

Firstly, you will need to secure tickets for the fixture you intend to come to.

You can browse and purchase tickets to our upcoming fixtures HERE.

We'd recommend choosing a Saturday fixture for the full matchday experience, when all areas of the stadium will be open including our designated family area within the Fanzone. However you may prefer a Tuesday night fixture if you are looking for a quieter and more relaxed experience.

We aspire for all areas of The Memorial Stadium to be welcoming environments for families. However, we recommend families looking for a dedicated family space to purchase tickets within the MKJ Group (South West) Stand, which is a seated, covered and elevated space for families to enjoy the game together.

Alternatively we recommend the Cooling FX (North West) Terrace if you desire a terrace experience, which is located next to the player tunnel.

Let us know

We want to make sure that all fans attending The Memorial Stadium for the first time have an enjoyable and memorable day.

If you are bringing a child along for their first match, please let us know in advance so we can prepare them a goodie bag and a welcome message on our big screen.

Click here to fill out our First Time Fan form.

Plan your journey

The Memorial Stadium is conveniently located just two miles from the city centre, with lots of public transport connections.

MATCHDAY

1pm | Visit the Club Shop

When you get to the stadium, visiting the Club Shop will provide a great start to your day.

Browse our store and see if you can purchase some Rovers merchandise to help get you into the spirit of the day!

If you have filled out our First Time Fans form above, you can also collect your goodie bag.

1:30pm | Head to the Fanzone

Then, make your way to the Fanzone. It has a great atmosphere and lots of entertainment, including a designated family area with inflatable football games for kids.

Please note that this area is currently only operational on Saturday matchdays. It is designed for Under 14s who need to be supervised by an adult at all times.

We frequently have live music on our stage, and you can grab some food and drink at one of our outdoor stalls, or check out the family-friendly Thatchers Bar.

Our Club Mascots, Captain Gas and Irene, will be wandering around the Fanzone pre-match so make sure you give them a wave and get a photo!

2:30pm | Head to the concourse

After this, if you have purchased MKJ Group Stand or Cooling FX Terrace tickets, head to turnstiles 1-8 at the end of the Fanzone. From here, you will be able to enter the stadium and head down to the South Stand concourse, where more food and drinks are available.

2:45pm | Take your Seats

Both the MKJ Stand and Cooling FX Terrace are easy to get to from the Fanzone, so you should not have many issues in finding your place.

However, if you do become slightly lost, either refer to the map on our matchday guide or ask a steward and they will point you in the right direction.

3pm | KICK-OFF

Enjoy the game! Up the Gas!

3:45pm | Half-Time

Help yourselves to a snack or half-time refreshments from the South Stand to get you ready for the second-half!

4pm | Second-Half Kick-Off

4:45pm | End of the Match

After you hopefully watch the Gas get a big win, it’ll be time to leave the stadium. Usually, crowds clear quickly, but perhaps wait five to ten minutes if you don’t want to get caught up in a crowd.

Travel safely back home!

We look forward to hopefully welcoming some new families to The Mem soon!

Hi everyone!

I’m Captain Gas, the official mascot of Bristol Rovers Football Club. If I’m not hanging about with the team, or searching for buried treasure, you can find me out and about The Memorial Stadium. On a matchday, I like to hang out with the club’s mascots, as well as all the Gasheads!

I am always meeting loads of new faces in the community, as well as a number of more familiar ones. So, if you see me, don’t be afraid to come over and say hi - I am always more than happy to meet my fans! So come over, give me a high five and show me some of your best dance moves, and maybe we can have a kick about together.

You can follow me on Twitter @CaptainGas_ where you can keep up to date with everything I’m getting up to. You can also tweet me there or send in your pictures of us together.
