Wycombe are currently two places ahead of Rovers in the League One standings. The Chairboys occupy 7th place in the table, two points ahead of Rovers in 9th. Wycombe have recently enjoyed wins against Portsmouth and high-flying Ipswich Town with a draw against Lincoln City sandwiched inbetween those two victories.

Anis Mehmeti is the top goalscorer in the league for Gareth Ainsworth's side. The Albanian has found the back of the net eight times this campaign and has also set up two goals for his teammates.

Familiar Faces

Brandon Hanlan will be the familiar face in the Wycombe squad for Rovers fans ahead of today's clash at Adams Park. Hanlan spent just one season in BS7 after joining from Gillingham in September 2020. During his time at Rovers, Hanlan played 45 times and scored seven goals for the Gas before departing for Wycombe in the Summer of 2021.

Match Report - Wycombe 2-1 Rovers

26 December 2022

Rovers are beaten on Boxing Day.

Rovers fell to defeat at Adams Park after an early second-half goal saw the hosts take all three points in a closely fought-encounter.

The Gas had the perfect start to the tie at Adams Park. A sublime ball from Antony Evans played in Aaron Collins who got his head up and picked out Josh Coburn in the middle of the box who was on hand to roll the ball past Max Stryjek in the Wycombe net to put the Gas into the lead.

Referee Sunny Gill showed Bobby Thomas an early yellow card for apparent time-wasting less than ten minutes into the clash at Adam Park. The hosts found the equaliser just past the 20-minute mark. Anis Mehmeti played a teasing ball into the Rovers penalty area where David Wheeler was on hand to level the scores. Rovers had strong appeals for a penalty waved away after Marquis looked to have been fouled by Stryjek after the Wycombe goalkeeper had spilt the ball following a cross.

The two sides exited the field at half-time with the scores level. Wycombe took the lead only minutes after the restart. Lewis Wing did well to find the angle to squeeze the ball over the line after some stalwart defending by Rovers.

Rovers looked to level the scores once again as Aaron Collins' effort was safely gathered by Stryjek. Luke McCormick entered the fray after 68 minutes replacing John Marquis. McCormick's neat backheel flick almost carved open a chance at goal for Coburn who mistimed his run and was flagged offside.

McCormick was involved yet again as the clock ticked towards the 80-minute mark. The midfielder had two shots within 30 seconds of each other with each effort being well saved by Stryjek. There was to be no late drama at Adams Park and Rovers head back to The Mem empty-handed.

Ticket Update - Wycombe Wanderers

21 December 2022

The club has issued an update on tickets for our Boxing Day clash at Adams Park...

We understand that Royal Mail strikes have caused delays with ticket delivery from the Bristol sorting office, therefore you may not have received your tickets for our Boxing Day fixture against Wycombe Wanderers yet. We want to make sure you have access to your tickets prior to matchday, therefore both clubs have arranged for Wycombe Wanderers to send Rovers supporters' tickets directly to you via email.

We have provided Wycombe with a list of ticket details for supporters affected by postal strikes. Your tickets will be sent in separate emails from wwfc@wwfc.com. Each individual ticket will be sent separately – for example, if your transaction with Bristol Rovers contains 4 tickets, you will receive 4 separate emails with a link to your ticket.

An example of the email(s) you will receive is below-

Please note – the ticket details you will receive via email is identical to those sent via postal service and either version can be used, however only one version of the same ticket can be used. Under no circumstances will a ticket be granted access to Adams Park if the same ticket has already been validated at the turnstiles.
