Our Commitment

Bristol Rovers Football Club is committed to remove and eliminate any direct or indirect discrimination of any form or kind within club structures and will, under no circumstances, condone unlawful discriminatory practices.

The organisation takes a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, victimisation or bullying and will work tirelessly to identify, investigate and eradicate all forms of discrimination.

EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) ensures fair treatment and opportunity for all. It aims to eradicate prejudice and discrimination on the basis of an individual or group of individuals' protected characteristics. 

What is equality?

Equality means fairness: we must ensure that individuals, or groups of individuals, are not treated less favourably because of their protected characteristics.

What is diversity?

Diversity is recognising, respecting and celebrating each other's differences. A diverse environment has a wide range of backgrounds and mindsets, allowing for an empowered culture of creativity and innovation.

What is inclusion?

Inclusion means creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. An inclusive environment can only be created once we are more aware of our unconscious biases, and have learned how to manage them.

Discrimination is treating any person unfairly because of who they are, such as Gender, Age, Race, Religion and Belief, Disability, Gender Reassignment, Marriage and Civil Partnership, Maternity and Paternity, and Sexual Orientation.

On Matchday

  1. Text 07451 288910, giving full details of the incident and which stand, row and seat it took place, if possible. The text will be sent to the matchday safety team who will investigate via steward intervention as well as direct or remote observation.
  2. Speak to a club steward or other member of staff.

Email Reporting

We encourage supporters to report any incidents witnessed in person or on any social media platforms that directly affect Bristol Rovers Football Club, its staff, players or supporters, by emailing, sharing details of the incident. 

Email Reporting Procedure

Once you have emailed through with details of the incident, we will then review this and be in contact within 48 hours. 

From here, we will take the necessary steps to investigate your complaint/incident and provide feedback in due course.

The English Football League (EFL) has launched its new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) strategy ‘Together’, which aims to make the league and its clubs more reflective and representative of the communities in which they serve.

Together branding will appear on the sleeve badges of all EFL shirts during the 2022/23 campaign.

Her Game Too is a group of female supporters who are passionate about football and working to eradicate sexism in the football industry.

They want women and girls of all ages to feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football, both online and in real life, without fear of sexist abuse.

Bristol Rovers work closely with HGT and the game against Portsmouth in March was our dedicated fixture to showcase their values.

BRFC is committed to ensuring that we support positive mental, emotional, physical health and wellbeing across our workforce, players, participants and fans.

Bristol Rovers Community Trust run a health programme for men, in partnership with Talk Club.

Bristol Rovers Talk Club is part of a behaviour-changing movement, aimed at getting men to talk more openly about their thoughts, feelings, worries and day-to-day gripes.

Our Community Trust provides those with disabilities a range of opportunities to participate in sport.

PL Kicks Youth Disability Football

This is for male and females from 8 to 18 years of age. This is an entry-level session where players are welcome to turn up and play, and there is a range of different abilities.

Most players are able to take part in simple football exercises and a small training match with the support of our dedicated staff.

Blind Youth Football

This is designed specifically for male and females from 10 to 18 years of age who are either Registered Blind or Severely Sight-Impaired.

The sessions involve the use of audio footballs which make a noise so players can follow the ball's movements.

Para Talent Hub

This is part of the England Talent pathway and hopes to find the Para England stars of the future.

It is recommended that players have a reasonable level of football ability for these sessions.

The sessions are aimed at both male and females aged from 8 to 16 years of age who have Cerebral Palsy or who are visually-impaired or hearing-impaired.

Ability FC (Adult)

Bristol Rovers Ability Football Club (Adult) has been running since 2003. They have a wide range of players in the club that have different disabilities, ranging from learning disabilities and ADHD to physical disabilities.

The club aims to give all players the opportunity to play football and enjoy themselves. The adult group (16+) is run separately from Bristol Rovers Community Trust by Jane Pfister.
