APRIL

It is time to vote for your Bristol Rovers Men's April Player Of The Month, sponsored by Christophe Duchamp

It was a perfect month for the Pirates, who won all five of their fixtures to extend their winning run in Sky Bet League Two to eight games, the longest run in the English Football League this season.

The Gas started with a narrow victory over Fleetwood Town at The Memorial Stadium, with Joe Quigley netting the winning goal with a flicked header from Jack Sparkes' corner.

Steve Evans' men then twice came from behind to beat Harrogate Town 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on the road before bagging three goals again, this time in a 3-1 triumph over Crawley Town. Rovers then claimed a 2-1 win away at Tranmere Rovers, with Promise Omochere and Yusuf Akhamrich in the goals, before ending the month with a thumping 4-0 victory over Cheltenham Town.

Gasheads can now vote for the Rovers player who stood out as the Player Of The Month in April, with three options from the men’s first team to choose from!

Ellis Harrison

It was a fantastic month for striker Ellis Harrison.

After starting Rovers' win over Fleetwood, Harrison was a super substitute against Harrogate. With the Pirates 2-1 down in the second half, the striker flicked a fine close-range strike past Henry Gray to level the score before netting the winner from the penalty spot.

Harrison scored in the next match, showing composure to drive in a low effort to break the deadlock against Crawley, before ending the month with a perfect performance against Cheltenham.

The forward netted headers at the start and end of the first half to give the Gas a two-goal lead before leaving the best until last to complete his hat-trick. Harrison spotted goalkeeper Joe Day off his line and chipped a first-time striker over the goalkeeper for his sixth goal in five games.

Shaq Forde

It was another good month for Shaq Forde under Steve Evans.

The 21-year-old started all five fixtures, playing at least 80 minutes in each match and finishing three of them. Forde got his first goal contribution of the month against Harrogate, drilling an effort from the edge of the box into the bottom corner.

He was also unlucky not to be credited with an assist for the Gas' second, where his inviting cross took a slight deflection its way to Harrison, who converted from close range.

Forde did get an assist for Rovers' match-winning goal against Tranmere, sliding the ball down the right to Akhamrich, who cut inside before curling his strike into the bottom corner. The former Watford man then concluded April with a goal, blasting a close-range effort in before celebrating with Evans, who was in the Thatchers End with the rest of the Gasheads.

Brad Young

Brad Young is up for another Player Of The Month award after another strong string of performances.

He played a pivotal role in the Gas' win over Fleetwood, getting down to his right to push away Ethan Ennis' penalty when the score was level. His crucial intervention switched the momentum of the contest, with the Pirates going on to win and keep a clean sheet.

Wins against Harrogate and Crawley followed before he made an attacking contribution versus Tranmere, launching the ball up the pitch towards Omochere, who moved in off the left and curled his strike into the top corner.

Young then finished the month with a clean sheet against Cheltenham, moving into seven clean sheets in 23 Sky Bet League Two outings.
