Steve Evans has named his Rovers side to take on Cobham Next Gen in the opening game of the EFL Trophy at the Memorial Stadium.
It is 11 changes for the Pirates from their 5-3 win against Newport County on the weekend, including a debut for goalkeeper Charlie Binns and first appearances of the season for Ryan De Havilland and Ryan Howley.
Ciaran Kelly also makes his first competitive appearance since signing for the Gas from Bradford City in the summer, with Jack Aitchison also in from the start further forward.
Richie Smallwood will captain the side, joining Reiss Russel-Denny in midfield as he takes on his former academy team. Philip Sanyaolu is on the bench for the first time since moving on loan from Queens Park Rangers, with Promise Omochere also coming into the squad.
