Bristol Rovers lost their second consecutive fixture in Sky Bet League Two after Will Davies' first-half brace helped the Fishermen to a 2-1 victory over the Gas.
Rovers enjoyed a strong start to the contest, but Will Davies broke the deadlock for the hosts from close range before scoring again soon after with a clever chip to give Fleetwood a two-goal advantage.
The Pirates made attacking changes in the second half, enjoying the better opportunities, with Promise Omochere winning and converting a penalty with composure in the 72nd minute.
Rovers pushed forward and kept the ball in Fleetwood's defensive third and had plenty of corners and free-kicks, but Darrell Clarke's men could not find a leveller.

Joel Senior looked bright in the early exchanges, with the right-wing back breaking down the wing and getting into the box before going down after a tackle from a Fleetwood defender, stopping him from getting a clean shot away. However, the referee waved away the penalty appeals.
The Gas were going direct with their attempts and loaded the Fisherman's box with every opportunity. Luke Southwood launched a free-kick into the box from a deep position, and Alfie Kilgour won his aerial battle, but his header was collected by Jay Lynch.
Hutchinson tried to break the stalemate from outside the box in the 25th minute, with the ball soaring over the post.
There was little to separate the teams, with chances few and far between before the hosts gained the advantage just before the half-hour mark. Elliot Bonds got down the right and curled a ball into Davies, who finished with composure from close range.
Davies was feeling confident after netting against Barnet on the opening day of the campaign and scored again soon after. This time, Harrison Neal looped a clever pass over the top of the Pirates' defence towards the striker, who chipped his attempt over Luke Southwood and into the net.

The Pirates ended the first 45 minutes with a half chance. Some silky passing from Jack Sparkes to Kamil Conteh helped to open a window of opportunity for the midfielder, shooting the ball slightly wide of the right post with a powerful strike.
Clarke was looking for an immediate response coming out at half-time, with Ruel Sotiriou coming on for Taylor Moore in an attacking move.
Isaac Hutchinson attempted to make things happen on the edge of the box, tricking his way past a defender before winning a foul after being tripped, but he hit the wall with the resulting free-kick.
The Pirates were attempting to make the most of the ball out wide, with Jack Sparkes whipping a dangerous cross into Omochere, who flicked a header just off target.
Clarke then made two more positive alterations just after the hour, with Ellis Harrison and Luke Thomas entering the field. Harrison was making bright runs soon after coming on and rushed onto a pass from Josh McEachran, but a defender got across with an important tackle just before he could get a shot away.

McEachran then used his playmaking ability again, finding Ruel Sotiriou in a promising position, but he lifted his first-time attempt over. Rovers had all the momentum and got themselves back in the fixture with less than 20 minutes left to play.
Omochere used his strength to protect the ball inside the box, with James Bolton dragging him to the floor and conceding the penalty. The forward took responsibility from the spot against his former side, taking his time before slotting his attempt straight down the middle of the goal.
The Pirates pushed for a second goal to gain a point on the road, but could not break Fleetwood's resilient defence. Rovers' best opportunity came when Sparkes' special delivery from the left Alfie Kilgour, but his downward header was saved excellently before the flag went up for offside.
