Referee Simon Mather will oversee Bristol Rovers' clash with Salford City at The Peninsula Stadium in Sky Bet League Two.
Mather has already officiated 21 games in the 2025/26 season, with ten coming in Sky Bet League One. The last time Mather took charge of a game featuring Bristol Rovers was the Pirates' final fixture at The Mem in the 2024/25 campaign, where the Royals won 2-0. Overall, he has overseen seven Rovers games.
In comparison, Mather has officiated five Salford fixtures. He twice took charge of the Ammies when they were in the National League North, but most recently refereed their final match of the 2024/25 Sky Bet League Two term, a 2-2 draw away at Carlisle United.
Mather has officiated 284 games in his professional career across the EFL and National Leagues, as well as featuring in the FA Cup nine times and the EFL Cup six times.
His most recent game was between Burton Albion and Huddersfield Town in the third tier, where goals from Terence Vancooten, Jake Beesley, and John McKiernan gave the Brewers an impressive victory.
Assistant Referees Lewis Raper and Steven Plane, and Fourth Official Karl Buckley will be part of the officiating team alongside Simon Mather.
