HARROGATE TOWN

Harrogate Town v Bristol Rovers
Sky Bet League Two, The Exercise Stadium, Monday 6 April 2026, 3:00pm KO

Bristol Rovers will look to continue their excellent run of form when they head to Harrogate Town in Sky Bet League Two.

The Gas started the month off in the best way, with a 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town. After a crucial save from Brad Young from Ethan Ennis' penalty, it was Joe Quigley who netted the winner with a header from a Jack Sparkes corner in the 66th minute.

The victory came after an impressive March, where the Gas won five of their six outings to move up the table. The Pirates now return to away action after back-to-back games at The Mem, securing two wins from their last three on the road, beating Barrow and Gillingham, either side of a defeat to Bromley.

Harrogate will also be in high spirits, coming off the back of a 3-1 victory against promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town on Friday, with Tobias Brenan and Jack Evans providing goals within six minutes of each other to give the Sulphurites a two-goal lead before Bryn Morris added a third in the closing stages.

Opposition...

Harrogate Town were promoted to Sky Bet League Two for the first time in their history after they beat Notts County 3-1 in the National League playoff final back in 2020.

They have been steady performers in their five seasons in the fourth tier, with the highest finish being 13th in the 2023/24 campaign. The Sulphurites had a solid start to the term, winning two and drawing two of their first four games before losing four on the bounce.

Back-to-back victories before a torrid run, where Simon Weaver's men went on a 20-game streak without a victory, with a 2-1 triumph over promotion hopefuls Cambridge United, claiming their first triumph since September. It was the start of a four-game unbeaten run before another tough run, losing four out of their next five outings.

The Sulphurites have since found success over Grimsby Town, as Brenan scored the opener after some clever footwork from Reece Smith. Six minutes later, Brenan provided the assist for Jack Evans to slot home a second. The Mariners' Kieran Green responded with a header from a Cameron McJannet long ball, but a Bryn Morris strike was able to seal the victory.

Harrogate remain at the bottom of the table but are just one point inside the relegation zone with five games left to play. As a result, they know a win could be enough to see them move out of the bottom two if other results go their way.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers and Harrogate have only met three times in their history. The first two fixtures between the teams came in the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two season, with the Gas claiming all six points available.

The Pirates first beat the Sulphurites away from home, with Nick Anderton scoring the only goal from close range to end Harrogate's ten-game unbeaten run at home. Rovers then enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory at The Mem, with a brace from Aaron Collins and a goal from Elliot Anderson sealing the win.

Harrogate got their first win over the Pirates on the first day of the 2025/26 campaign, with Stephen Duke-McKenna netting a second-half winner.
