Fleetwood Town Preview

Bristol Rovers v Fleetwood Town
Sky Bet League Two, The Memorial Stadium, Friday 3 April 2026, 3:00pm KO

Bristol Rovers will be looking to start April with another win at The Memorial Stadium to add to their collection as they face off against Fleetwood Town on Friday.

The Gas have had a memorable March, winning five out of a possible six matches, closing the month off with a comfortable 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley at the Memorial Stadium.

Riley Harbottle headed in the opener early for the hosts, as Kofi Balmer provided a long throw-in in the fifth minute. In the second half, Jack Sparkes helped to seal the victory with a curled free-kick into the bottom left corner. It was the Pirates' sixth victory in seven home matches, with the Gasheads at the heart of Rovers' success.

Fleetwood most recently picked up a point after their match against Swindon Town ended in a 1-1 draw. Billy Bodin broke the deadline for Swindon before Mark Helm levelled after the break.

Opposition...

After rising through the ranks in non-league football, a very successful 2011/12 campaign put the Cod Army in the football pyramid for the first time in their history. After a 29-game unbeaten run, Fleetwood Town finished at the top of the National League table with 102 points.

Fleetwood were only in Sky Bet League Two for two seasons before they were promoted again, finishing fourth in the table and beating Burton Albion in the playoff final. After ten seasons in the third tier, they were relegated back to Sky Bet League Two in the 2023/24 campaign.

Friday’s visitors have had an up-and-down season, having won one in their last five games, but have also only lost one of their last nine in the fourth tier. The Fishermen earned their last victory against Crawley Town, after Ched Evans drilled home the winner on the 60-minute mark after Ethan Ennis and Mark Helm teed up the shot. They are 13th in the table on 55 points, looking to improve on their 14th-place finish last term.
