Steve Evans' men were looking to build on their 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra last Friday and almost started perfectly when Fabrizio Cavegn made the most of a defensive error and raced one-on-one with Grant Smith, but pulled his effort well wide of the right post.
The Gas had all of the momentum and scored twice before half-time to gain the advantage. Jack Sparkes raced onto Josh McEachran's ball down the left and powered his strike past the goalkeeper before Cavegn made up for his miss with a driven strike into the bottom corner.
Rovers were in control, but Shaq Forde was shown a second yellow card for a late tackle soon after the restart, with the Ravens taking full advantage of their extra man. Nicke Kabamba got one back for the visitors before a late brace from Ben Thompson completed the comeback.
