Watch the highlights from Bristol Rovers' 2-1 defeat to Salford City in Sky Bet League Two.
The Ammies won their previous five fourth-tier fixtures and got off to a superb start. The ball fell to Brendan Wiredu on the edge of the box, and he whipped a first-time strike over Brad Young and into the top left corner.
The visitors then netted a second before the break to double their advantage. Luke Molyneux got down the right and pulled a low cross towards Daniel Udoh, who got in front of his marker and poked a shot past Brad Young.
The Gas improved in the second half but could not get back on level terms. Ellis Harrison had a chance to get a goal back for Rovers, smashing the bar with a penalty before Jack Sparkes curled a free-kick into the bottom corner to halve the deficit. The Pirates made several changes and pushed everyone forward to try and get a point, but Salford stayed strong to secure all three points.
