In a contest that started with chances few and far between in the opening 20 minutes, Rovers hit the back of the net when Joel Cotterill raced onto the end of Luke Thomas' pass and drilled a low shot into the corner, but the flag went up for offside.
The Bees then gained the lead just before half-time, with Adam Senior hitting the bar before scoring moments later with his following attempt. Barent then had the chance to double their lead from the penalty spot, but Mark Shelton was denied by Luke Southwood.
Rovers had the momentum and went close to levelling through Alfie Kilgour, whose close-range header was pushed away by Cieran Slicker before Ryan Glover netted Barnet's second goal four minutes from the end to secure the points for the visitors.
