The Pirates claimed all three points thanks to Ellis Harrison's close-range finish in the first half, with the striker getting onto Alfie Kilgour's clever flicked header before finishing beyond Jake Eastwood.
After a quiet opening 45 minutes for Cambridge, the visitors pushed forward in the second half, looking to get a leveller, but could not find their way through a strong Rovers defence, who largely nullified the U's attacking threat.
As a result, the Gas retained their lead to claim their first win of the 2025/26 Sky Bet League Two season, keeping their second straight clean sheet at The Memorial Stadium.
