Bristol Rovers can create history on Saturday at The Memorial Stadium against Exeter City, and Steve Evans is calling on all the Gasheads to get down to BS7 and support the Gas.
The Pirates have won their last ten home league fixtures, stretching back to the 3-1 win over Grimsby Town in February. There have been plenty of memorable moments in that time: Tommy Leigh's late brace over Crewe Alexandra, Evans getting in the Thatchers End for Rovers' 4-0 win over Cheltenham Town and the 5-3 thriller against Newport County earlier this campaign.
Evans and all of the Gasheads will be looking for one more on Saturday. The Gas face Exeter and are looking to beat the Grecians at The Mem for the first time since April 2016.
Speaking to BRTV, Evans is excited about the prospect of making history and is urging all Gasheads to get to The Mem to support his side on the weekend.
A NEW WEEK
"The boys have been bright, in fairness. They came in for a debrief on Monday, which was needed, but as I educated the boys on Monday, this club has got quite a distinguished history.
"This club was formed in 1883, and we have the opportunity and the supporters; never forget the Gasheads, an opportunity to be at The Memorial Stadium on Saturday and make history. That would be incredible.
"We've equalled that history twice before, and now we have an opportunity, having done that, to be the ones that can make history, and I would love to be associated 25 or 30 years from now when people are talking about when Steve Evans was the manager when this club made history and the players, they will want to be associated with that when they're telling their kids and their grandkids."
BACK AT THE MEM
"I love going to The Mem. I was down there midweek last week, and I saw the supporters coming in and around the shop. It's just vibrant, and it gives you that sense of hope.
"We're looking forward to it. We know it's going to be tough. Matt Taylor is bringing an Exeter side that has been reborn in the last month, with some really good players and one or two that have played for me in the past. It will be a tough gig, but the opportunity to make history is fantastic for all of us.
"So, if you're not thinking of coming, Gasheads, get in the stadium on Saturday and be there the day that this club makes history. We have to do it together, never forget that."
WHAT HAS BEEN BEHIND THE WINNING RUN?
"I think the Gasheads play a massive part. We have demonstrated this by the fact that we have not been so good on the road, but we've been very good at home. Everyone has that special feeling.
"If you speak to any player that is newer or older, Ellis started here as an academy player, and you look at him now as a distinguished pro, and it doesn't matter where he went in his career, always playing at The Mem is special. It's special for opposition players to come as well, but we have had that togetherness and that bond for ten games; can we make it 11?
"Do I want to be associated with history? Of course we do, and if we do that, we'll have the league leaders here in two weeks to create more history, but let's create it on Saturday."
FAVOURITE GAME IN THE WINNING RUN
"All of them. I think no one can forget certain games. You know, Crewe, two goals in added time with Tommy Leigh; no one will forget that. No one will forget big, big moments in that run of games this season and some big, big performances as well.
"The one last season when I went into the Thatchers End, four-nil against your local rivals Cheltenham and it could have been many more, of course. But let's deal with Saturday, let's deal with Exeter City, let's deal with the opportunity to make history and together, that can be achieved."
FAVOURITE PART OF THE MEM
"Walking in pre-match, there are very few people in the stadium: the ground staff and some catering staff running around and it's just great. I've stood in the Thatchers End many times, and I've gone up into different stands at different times to just have a look and to put in my head what it's like to watch from there.
"All-round, it is a Memorial Stadium. It's an appropriate name: The Mem. So, we're looking forward to seeing if we can create that little bit of magical gold dust that creates history, and it's hard for any group of players in modern-day football to create history that has been going since 1883."
MEMORIES WITH HIS GRANDSON AT THE MEM
"I am blessed that I have got little Joseph who goes around the pitch. He now knows what it's like to clap the Gasheads. I am hoping to have some of my other grandchildren on Saturday as well because certainly in my lifetime, you don't get the opportunity to be part of a team and a football club where history is possible; it's always gone before you. This is an opportunity, and it's an opportunity for every Gashead in and around Bristol, far and wide, come and be part of a great day."
MESSAGE TO THE GASHEADS
"We need a full house. We need everyone. I can remember that Cheltenham game we spoke about; we asked our supporters to come out in big numbers and create a full house. It's going to happen, isn't it.
"Everyone is talking about this game, even people who are not connected with Bristol Rovers. I went with some league managers last Sunday, and we had a game of golf, and they said it was a big game against Exeter, a chance to win 11 in a row at home. There aren't many clubs that can do that; go back through the history of every club. There are not many that do it."
