The Pirates were looking to earn their sixth straight victory in Sky Bet League Two and scored two quick first-half goals to take control of the contest at the break. Ellis Harrison broke the deadlock, latching onto Kofi Balmer's clever pass before finishing clinically.
Then, Mees Rijks got his first goal in the blue-and-white quarters. Tommy Leigh delivered a perfect pass across to Joel Senior, who chose the unselfish option from the right side of the box, playing the ball cross to Rijks to score from close range.
The Red Devils improved in the second half and got one back through Louie Watson, but could not level the score. Despite Tom Lockyer being shown a straight red card, the Gas netted the final goal, with Yusuf Akhamrich chipping a clever shot over Jacob Chapman to confirm the victory.
