Bristol Rovers pays tribute to John Kayes

John Kayes

Bristol Rovers Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of John Kayes

John previously worked for the Club in the commercial department and has been an ardent supporter of the Gas since the 1970s.

Most Gasheads will know John for his incredibly generous spirit and active volunteering in the name of Bristol Rovers, setting up away travel schemes, organising Tote End reunion events with former players and notably spearheading the Club’s relationship with CE Sabadell, culminating in an unforgettable trip to the Catalonian city and fixture between the two teams in 2016.

John’s kindness and generosity will never be forgotten by anyone associated with Bristol Rovers, nor will his infectious personality and passion for the Club.

Everyone at Rovers will truly miss John and joins supporters everywhere in sending our sincerest condolences to John’s family, friends and loved ones at this immensely sad time.

The Club will be paying tribute to the life and memory of John at our home game against Salford City on Saturday 27 September, and a book of condolences will be set up for messages at the Tote End Old Boys table in the entrance to the Fan Zone at the match.
