Barrow clash set for 11am pitch inspection

BARROW GENERAL VIEW

Bristol Rovers supporters are advised of the following statement, courtesy of Barrow:

Tomorrow’s game against Bristol Rovers is still going ahead subject to an 11am pitch inspection tomorrow morning.

The frost covers have been on the pitch overnight and heat lamps are covering the worst affected areas. In its current state, the pitch is playable. Temperatures overnight tonight are similar to those last night, so we are anticipating a similar outlook tomorrow ahead of the match.

The match official, James Oldham, will conduct an 11am pitch inspection tomorrow morning, allowing time for the overnight frost to thaw out in the morning. We’ve been in dialogue with the EFL, Bristol Rovers and the match referee, and will remain in touch over the next 24 hours.

Whilst we appreciate that the Bristol Rovers supporters will be making a long trip north, the pitch is currently in a fit state to play, and we have no justifiable reason at the time of this statement to postpone the game.
