Updated - Return of Fans FAQ's

6 August 2021

Ahead of our first competitive fixtures at the Memorial Stadium, we have updated our guidance for supporters attending matches in person, while constantly reviewing the procedures in place.

Why are there additional regulations in place?

The club is working closely with our Safety Advisory Group as well as following the regulations from the EFL and government to ensure that your matchday at the Mem is as safe as possible. Our pre-season fixtures acted as our test events, where our procedures and guidelines were evaluated by the SAG and we would like to thank supporters for their cooperation at making those events a success. All the guidelines below are constructed to make your experience at the Memorial Stadium as safe as possible.

Do I need to be double vaccinated to attend?

No, supporters can attend without being vaccinated, however you will need to provide evidence of a negative lateral flow test. These can be logged via https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result.

Why are the regulations different from club to club?

As stated above, each club will be working with their local Safety Advisory Group. However, the groups are regional and operate based on a number of factors specific to each club, including how widespread the outbreak is in each area at a given time. We therefore urge all supporters to check the specific regulations ahead of each game.

Do I need to demonstrate my negative test or vaccination on a smart phone?

No, using the NHS app or online portal is preferred, however if you don’t have access to these systems you can bring a letter or your vaccination card as proof.

Will proof of Covid recovery be suitable to gain entry to the stadium?

Yes, you will need to show documentation of recovery (proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel). Alternatively, a negative lateral flow test will also suffice.

Do children need to take lateral flow tests?

Children 12 and under do not need to take a lateral flow test, however anyone 13 and over will. This can be done via the above processes.

Are masks required to be worn when at the stadium?

We would encourage all supporters to bring a mask with them and wear it whilst moving around the stadium. However, this will not be enforced and it will be down to supporters to decide if and when to wear their masks.

Is social distancing required whilst at the stadium?

Supporters are encouraged to maintain social distancing where possible.

Why are the terraced areas split into sections?

As part of the restrictions to ensure social distancing, the terrace areas have been split to ensure that capacity levels in each part of the terrace are limited to maintain social distancing.

Will the club shop be open?

The Club Shop reopens on Saturday, 7th August. The Superstore is open on a match day on the hours listed below.

Will the bars and kiosks be open?

Yes, bars and kiosks will be open. The Thatchers Bar will be open as usual other bars and kiosks will be available across the stadium once you have entered the Memorial Stadium.

What time should I arrive at the stadium?

We’d encourage all supporters to arrive at the Mem as early as possible as entry to the stadium may take longer than it has in the past. If using the NHS app, suggest downloading your vaccine certificate before arriving at the turnstiles to ensure a swift entry into the stadium

How do I purchase a match ticket and can I pay on the day?

Match tickets are available to purchase online via our Ticketmaster site, in store at the club shop or via the match day ticket office.
