Date Set for Launch of 'Gas Travel'

8 January 2020

The Club is pleased to announce that Event Travel Hub will officially launch 'Gas Travel' in February.

Following on from overwhelming support from the wider fanbase, the service will launch for our home fixture vs Coventry City on Saturday, 1st February 2020 and will operate until the end this season.

The results of the recent travel survey suggested a strong demand for such a service, with the hope that if the service is used by supporters, 'Gas Travel' will form a vital component of the match day experience and grow with an enlarged network.

Event Travel Hub organise transport for many sporting events, music festivals, corporate and private events and are Official Travel Partner for Brighton and Hove Albion FC.

Darren Gallis, Director of Event Travel said, ‘We were delighted to see the results of the travel survey.

"The level of interest is very encouraging as we can see similarities to when we started Seagull Travel for BHAFC from a cabin at the Amex when the stadium was being built.

"Bristol Rovers FC are at a similar stage in their evolution and we feel, that our sustainable travel service will be an asset to both us and the club.

"We will start with a smaller network for this season in order to build awareness and let the network enlarge in areas where demand is highest. We are excited about this partnership and are delighted to see the team doing so well on the pitch!”

Commercial Director, Tom Gorringe added, "We look forward to the launch of 'Gas Travel', which has been in the pipeline for a number of months, with a high level of fan interaction embedded in the process of detailing the routes and the demand of the service.

"In the coming months, we will continue to analyse and evaluate the success of the service and we will be keen to take on feedback from supporters as well.

"We thank Event Travel Hub for their hard work in getting the service prepared to launch and look forward to 'Gas Travel' becoming part of supporters match day routine for games at the Mem."

The 'Gas Travel' service comes with many benefits, to help supporters enjoy their match day experience and take the stress out of travelling to and from the Memorial Stadium.

The benefits to supporters for using the service are outlined below;

• Special 2019/2020 season offering of £8 per person.

• No more driving around looking for that parking space near the ground.

• No more changing buses or trains.

• No long walks to the train station.

• No more queuing for buses in the wind and rain.

• No more travelling alone – the opportunity to travel to fellow-minded fans and make new friends.

• No more leaving the match early - so many fans leave early to beat the queues, which you won't have to worry about if you take up their service.

• Guaranteed seat to make sure your journey to the ground is a comfortable one – coaches aim to be at the ground about an hour before KO on Saturdays and 45 minutes before the game begins at midweek fixtures.

• Enjoy the pre-match build-up; relax and be in a position to secure your favourite spot on the terraces.

• Gas Travel coaches will park just outside the stadium giving fans easy access.
