Great Western Air Ambulance Chosen as Club's Charity Partner

22 November 2019

The Club is delighted to announce ‘Great Western Air Ambulance’ as one of our chosen charity partners for the 2019/20 season.

Following on from our successful pairing with the ‘Southmead Project’ and ‘North Bristol Foodbank’ last season, Great Western Air Ambulance has been chosen as one of the Club's designated charity partners.

Throughout the season, the club will be working with the charity to help raise awareness of their work to help them continue the great work that they do in and around the local community.

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) provides critical care and air ambulance service for 2.1 million people across the counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

On average, the Charity attends 5 incidents every day and need around £3 million each year to stay operational and rely on the generosity of donors and supporters to keep flying.

Speaking about the partnership, Commercial Director, Tom Gorringe said, "When selecting our charity partners for the season, we felt that it was important to ensure that any chosen charity had a strong bond to causes that are widespread to many supporters.

“We know many of our supporters would know someone, or even received first-hand, critical care from the Great Western Air Ambulance and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the charity in events and projects over the course of the season.’

A spokesperson from the charity said, “We’re so proud to have been chosen as one of Bristol Rovers’ partner charities for this year, and really excited about the season of activities we’ve got planned with staff, players and supporters.”
