Match Preview: Bristol Rovers v Rochdale

22 April 2019

All the pre-match content ahead of Monday's Sky Bet League One fixture against Rochdale at the Mem.

Rovers are back on home turf after Friday's trip to South London, where a battling display saw Graham Coughlan's side earn a draw to reach the 50 point milestone.

Five points currently separate Rovers from the bottom four, heading into the final three games of the campaign, which sees Rovers travel to Fleetwood and host Barnsley after Easter Monday's fixture.

Rochdale are one of the teams that are in the clutches of a tight relegation battle and picked up a valuable win at home to Wycombe on Friday that helped them climb out of the relegation places and into 17th spot in the standings.

Managers View: The Rovers boss discussed Monday's game after Friday's draw in London and talked about how he will prepare the squad for their second test in four days.

Opposition: Rochdale are finding a good run of form at a crucial stage of the season, picking up fourteen points from their past eight games. Although they've conceded the most goals this season in the division (83), Rochdale have scored the opening goal on twenty occasions. So far this term, Rochdale have conceded 19 goals in the final quarter of games (76-90 minute).

Last Time We Met: When the two sides faced each other earlier in the season, the points were shared in a goalless encounter. Magnus Norman was dismissed for Rochdale just prior to the half-time break, as Rovers couldn't break down the ten men of the hosts, with Stefan Payne coming closest to breaking the deadlock.
