North Bristol Food Bank Partner with Community Trust for Fun Days

9 April 2019

The Community Trust are delighted to announce the partnership with North Bristol Food Bank for the upcoming Easter Fun Days at Lockleaze Sports Centre.

The Food Bank that is also an official charity partner of Bristol Rovers, will be offering free lunches to every child who attends the upcoming Easter Fun Days. They will be offering a selection of sandwiches, crisps, biscuits and fruit throughout the lunch break to help ease the financial constraints that some families may experience through the School Holidays.

Matt Dobson, General Manager at The North Bristol Foodbank said: “We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry, so I’m delighted that we are able to help the Community Trust and the young people at the Easter Fun Days. The ‘Holiday Hunger’ initiative is there for families who may be struggling financially during the School holidays due to the lack of free School meal entitlements. We want families to have the option to use our services if they feel the need to.”

Community Trust Manager, Matt Bennett, said: “We’d like to thank North Bristol Food Bank for their incredibly generous offer to help the young families in our Community. The work that they do in North Bristol is very important for those who need it and the ‘Holiday Hunger’ initiative could make a big difference for some of our attendees.”

Children who have already booked onto the Easter Fun Days are more welcome to bring their own packed lunch as usual, although the option will be there for those to use the food provided by North Bristol Food Bank.
