Rovers Stars Surprise Primary School Students For Live BBC Lesson

24 September 2018

Rovers stars Liam Sercombe, Tom Broadbent and Michael Kelly were surprise guests at Emersons Green Primary School last Wednesday, to take part in the BBC and Premier League Primary Stars live lesson being streamed from the Etihad Campus in Manchester.

The ‘Super Movers’ project is an exciting partnership between the Premier League and BBC which aims to inspire primary school children to get active and learn in a fun and engaging environment. The three Rovers stars were on hand to help over 60 Year 6 students with their work and take part in the interactive lesson.

Karl Hemmings, the Head Teacher at Emersons Green Primary School said, “The players were amazing. They were so patient and friendly with our children and I could how excited the students were to have them as surprise guests at our School. I know how important the Community Trust is and the work that they do in Bristol, especially with young people and I’m really proud to be working with a real Community club like Bristol Rovers”

The Community Trust visits over 13 Schools and engages with nearly 400 children every week. Whether it’s academic studies, physical activities or health and dietary education, the Community Trust is committed to improving the lives of young people across the City.
