International Round-Up

Defender Tom Lockyer earns his fourth Welsh cap against Mexico.

The Rovers skipper was used as an early first-half substitute during the game at the Rose Bowl Stadium, replacing Ashely Williams, who was forced off with a rib injury inside the opening twenty minutes.

Lockyer helped a youthful Wales record a respectable 0-0 draw against Mexico, as Ryan Giggs side thwarted the advances of the Mexican side, who had the better of the chances but couldn't break the deadlock in the stadium that hosted the 1994 World Cup final.

A crowd of 82,345 watched the game in LA, as Mexico stepped up their preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup which kicks off next month.

Lockyer has been with the Wales squad for the past ten days, as Ryan Giggs' squad prepared for the trip with a training session at Wrexham's Racecourse ground, before embarking on a training camp in the States ahead of the encounter with Mexico.

Lockyer's recent Wales cap adds to his two appearances during the China Cup campaign earlier this year and his debut Wales appearance last November against Panama.

The Club would like to extend congratulations to Tom on his Wales cap.
