Interview: Tom Broadbent

26 March 2018

Defender Tom Broadbent discusses Saturday's draw at Peterborough and looks ahead to the Easter period.

The defender was recalled to the starting eleven for Saturday's trip to Peterborough and relayed that he enjoyed getting back out onto the pitch, but was slightly disappointed not to pick up all three points after going ahead in the contest.

"It was good to get back out there on Saturday, but it would have been nicer to take back all three points," said Broadbent.

"Looking back, a point away from home is a good return and I feel that as a team, collectively, we weren't really at it on Saturday, so looking at the performance, you would settle for a point."

After again linking up with Tony Craig at the heart of the Rovers defence, Broadbent echoed the thought's of Joe Partington, insisting that Craig's experience is an invaluable asset.

"Tony's vast experience in the game shows and he's always talking to us throughout the game, so that is a huge benefit for me to learn from."

After back-to-back fixtures on the road, Rovers head back to the Mem this Friday to take on Bury F.C, with the defender keen to get back on home soil.

"I love playing at the Mem," beamed the defender ahead of Friday's encounter.

"It's always a great experience to walk out at the Mem and even at away games, the support we get on the road is fantastic."
