Rovers Continue to Help the Homeless

1 March 2018

Following yesterday’s article on the kind food donation made by Bristol Rovers Football Club following our postponed match against Wigan Athletic, the club is again delighted to again be able to help those most in need.

Due to the inclement weather and the amber warning issued by the Met Office we have unfortunately had to postpone today's Blue Diamond Club Luncheon due to safety concerns. With this in mind, the club were keen to ensure that the prepared food wasn't to go to waste and staff from our Community Trust this morning delivered a significant quantity of food to the Wild Goose Café.

Ken Masters, Club Director and Community Trust Chairman stated, "the club are overjoyed at being able to help those in need".

Over 120 portions of mushroom soup, prepared vegetables and deserts along with milk, hot dogs and bread rolls were delivered by minibus and gratefully received by the staff at the Wild Goose Cafe.

Andy, Deputy Manager at the drop-in centre said, " your support and outreach work is amazing, thank you so much".

Gene, Head Chef at the café added, "your kind donation and delivery of food is literally saving lives during this cold weather, thank you so much".

Bristol Rovers will continue to support local organisations throughout the year.
