Match Preview: Blackpool v Bristol Rovers

12 January 2018

Take a look at Saturday's opponents, Blackpool F.C.

Rovers: The fixture is the first game for Darrell Clarke's side since the New Years's Day victory over Portsmouth, as Rovers head into Saturday's game on the back of a positive run of results over the festive period, capturing two draws on the road at both Oldham and Walsall and of course that dramatic win over Portsmouth at the Mem.

Darrell Clake's View: The Manager spoke to the press on Thursday morning and gave an update on the January transfer window and eluded to the arrival of forward Bernard Mensah, which was confirmed later in the day on Thursday.

Opposition: Blackpool head into Saturday's game on the back of a penalty shoot-out defeat that saw them exit the Checkatrade Trophy at the hands of Shrewsbury Town earlier in the week. The Seasiders are level on points as things stand with Rovers, but a win for either side could see the victorious team end the weekend as high as 11th in the SkyBet League One standings.

Last Meeting: Rovers scored two late goals to earn a victory when the sides last met at the Mem. Defender Ryan Sweeney headed Rovers ahead inside the final ten minutes, as Ellis Harrison fired home late on to secure the three points back in September.

Tickets: The Club has sold an impressive 809 advance tickets for the fixture. Tickets are available on the day, at no extra cost.
