Tom Lockyer and Stuart Sinclair Serve Up a Treat at Bristol Homeless Centre

24 December 2018

Bristol Rovers Community Trust returned to 'The Wild Goose Cafe' last week, to help serve over 200 Christmas dinners to some of the vulnerably housed individuals in Bristol. Rovers Captain Tom Lockyer and midfielder Stuart Sinclair took a few hours out of their schedule to assist 'The Wild Goose Cafe' on one of their busiest days of the year.

Andy Kinglsey, Deputy Manager of The Wild Goose Cafe said, "We serve around 400 meals everyday and everything is always free for the homeless community in Bristol. It's a wonderful connection that we have with Bristol Rovers and we are thrilled to have established a great relationship with the club after the snow storm that we endured earlier this year. Rovers are a community club and we work in the local community and to have the two combine is absolutely wonderful."

Adam Tutton, CEO of Bristol Rovers Community Trust said "It's really important for the trust and the football club to be involved today and we're really lucky to have Tom Lockyer and Stuart Sinclair to help us support the Christmas dinner serving at The Wild Goose Cafe. Andy approached us last week to see if we could offer our support and we were more than happy to come down and continue the great relationship that we have with the Cafe."

Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bristol Rovers Community Trust, Ken Masters, was fully supportive of the work that's being done at the cafe. "It's an honour for us to be able to help some of the vulnerable and less fortunate people in our great City by supporting the Christmas dinner serving. The work that the cafe does on a day to day basis is extraordinary and I'm happy that we have been able to support the army of volunteers to successfully feed over 200 people."

The cafe is also on the lookout for donations to help "Spruce the Goose" and improve the current facilities that are on offer. If you would like to donate to this terrific community charity, please click on the link below to find out more.
