Loan Watch

16 April 2018

It was a mixed weekend for the contingent of players out on loan.

Once again Ryan Broom was selected in Andy Hessenthaler's starting line-up, as Eastleigh made the long trip north to face Gateshead. The winger was substituted in the 60th minute as Eastleigh fell to a 2-0 defeat. Next up for Eastleigh is a home fixture against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday evening.

Swindon headed to Rodney Parade to face Newport, still with a chance of making the playoffs in SkyBet League Two. Rollin Menayese was included in the starting eleven to face his hometown club but was dismissed during the second half. Newport held a 2-0 lead heading into the break, as Menayese picked up a booking just minutes into the second half, before receiving his marching orders when he was shown a second yellow card with just twenty minutes to play.

Jonny Burn had to be patient on the weekend, as he featured as a second-half substitute as York City fell to a narrow defeat to Gainsborough Trinity.

Both Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist and Alfie Kilgour featured for Hungerford on Saturday, as the National League South side were defeated 5-0 by Bath Town. Results in recent weeks have seen Hungerford stretch a five-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.

Ghassan Abu Hassan didn't feature for Bishop Cleeve this weekend, while Liam Armstrong was selected for Tiverton Town as they were narrowly defeated by Royston Town, after Tiverton took the lead inside the opening minute.

At Froome Town, Academy winger Josh Brace started in a 1-1 draw against Farnborough, with Josh Bailey and James Spruce both not featuring this weekend for Farnborough.

Development striker Cameron Ebbutt was used as a late second-half substitute for Evesham in their 2-1 victory over Bishops Cleeve.
