Getting to Know: MK Dons

Take a look at our opponents next season in SkyBet League One

19 June 2017

We take a look at MK Dons ahead of the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Team Nickname: The Dons

Home Ground: Stadium MK

Distance from the Mem: 106 miles (212-mile round trip)

Manager: Manager Robbie Neilson joined the Dons from Scottish Premiership side Hearts in December following the sacking of Karl Robinson.

The former Scottish Under-21 International took charge of a 19th positioned MK Side and managed to turn their fortunes around, finishing in 12th position just five points behind Rovers.

Last Season: The former Championship side seemingly struggled to readjust to life in SkyBet League One before parting ways with Karl Robinson.

Neilson's side finished the season strong with two wins out of their last three League One games and will be looking to hit the ground running this season as they look to return to the Championship.

Last Encounter: Rovers were held to a rare goalless draw at the Memorial Stadium back in November 2016 in front of a crowd of over 9,000.

New Recruits: MK Dons haven't added to their squad ahead of the 2017/18 season so far, however, they have lost midfielder Darren Potter who has joined recently relegated Rotherham and defender George Baldock who has joined Championship bound Sheffield United.

SkyBet Odds: League sponsors SkyBet offer odds of 14/1 on the Dons being crowned champions come May 2018 and offer odds of 2/1 for Robbie Neilson's men to finish inside the top six.
