ROVERS SIGN QPR KEEPER JOE LUMLEY

18 January 2017

Rovers have today signed QPR goalkeeper Joe Lumley on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper was released by Tottenham Hotspur in 2010 and moved to Loftus Road where he enjoyed loan spells with Bishop's Stortford, Accrington Stanley, Morecambe and Stevenage before returning to Rangers.

He made his first team debut for the Loftus Road outfit in an FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest in January last year and three days later made his Championship debut for the club in a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers.

Manager Darrell Clarke said of his new signing; "With Kelle Roos having been recalled by Derby County and Steve Mildenhall still missing through injury, it was important that we recruited another goalkeeper to provide both competition and cover for us.

"Joe is a talented young goalkeeper and I would like to welcome him to The Memorial Stadium and thank QPR for allowing him to join us and our own Board of Directors for agreeing to the deal."
