As part of our Academies commitment to supporting Children’s Hospice South West over 170 Bristol Rovers Academy players, family members and staff took part in the Rainbow Run over the summer.
It was a great day with all enjoying the event and also taking great pride in raising funds for such a valuable cause.
In addition boys from the academy and their families conducted a bucket collection at our first team fixture against Oxford United.
Having set an initial target of raising £2000 the combined total including rainbow run entry fees, sponsorship and the bucket collection is an amazing £9106.47.
Academy Head of Coaching and Children's Hospice South West ambassador Paul Hughes said 'We are delighted with the amount raised and its a credit to the efforts of all of our academy staff, players, families and the club as a whole in particular Keith Brookman and our ambassadors Lee Brown, Adam Tutton and Lewis Ellington.
As well as supporting the Children's Hospice its been great to see our boys develop their social responsibility and consider what a great opportunity they have to help others.
We are looking forward to showing our continued support to the Children's Hospice South West and see our boys further develop as young men with the values you would expect of this great family football club.
