DARRELL - WE ARE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL NOW

19 February 2015

Darrell previews this weekend's game!

Rovers face two home games in quick succession and Darrell tells us that the squad are in high spirits.

"Everyone is confident but that only comes from winning football matches but now we have to really focus on this weekend's game against Altrincham.

"They are one of the form teams in the league and are a good side and they have a good manager.

"We are just looking at the one game at a time and we need to take care of that one first.

"We may have lost against Altrincham earlier on in the season but we are a completely different animal now as are Altrincham, they have changed a lot through the season.

"These two games will both be good tests but we won't be getting carried away because we have a job to do on Saturday.

"Everyone seems to look at it as Bristol Rovers vs Altrincham should be an easy three points for us on name alone but it won't be as easy as that and we certainly aren't taking it that way.

Saturday's visitors to the Memorial Stadium have only had one loss since the start of the year making them one of the form teams in the league which is something that Darrell is very aware of.

"These are all things you need to take into account because they have been doing really well.

"It will be a very tough test but if we can get the crowd behind us at the Mem and we have to give the fans something to make them the 12th man.

"We need to be at it straight from kick off to give them something to cheer for and it would be great if we could pick up the three points.

"The atmosphere at the Mem is fantastic and it is even better when we get that first goal. I understand that the supporters of this football club are anxious during games but once we get that first goal there is so much of a lift which helps the lads so much.

"The lads understand that they need to do their bit as well, keeping the tempo and the way we start football matches is right but it is a bit of a two way thing.
