GRAB A COPY OF OUR MATCH DAY PROGRAMME

16 September 2014

Get the latest copy of The Pirate

If you’re heading to the Memorial Stadium for our game against Nuneaton Town tomorrow night, then why not pick up a copy of our matchday programme, The Pirate.

Priced at £3 our matchday magazine is packed with many features you won’t have seen on our website.

Manager Darrell Clarke pens his own notes, and this week we continue our feature that profiles the scholars in our Academy. In this issue it’s the turn of second year scholar Jay Malpas.

Jake Gosling and Lee Brown are this week’s interviewees, with the former talking about his game for Gibraltar in the Euro qualifying game against Poland, and the latter reflecting on his penalty miss last Saturday.

The featured player in this issue’s centre spread is Neal Trotman, who just happens to have a car for sale if you’re interested!

There’s news from the Supporters Club, Young Pirates, and Helpline, while the Fanzone page gives all of you an opportunity to participate, so if you have a birthday or anniversary or anything else you would like us to mention in the next issue, then please get in touch.

Are you related to a Rovers player from the Victorian era? If so, check out Stephen Byrne’s Victorian Rovers article and get in touch if you have any photos of players from over a century ago.

As well as the Victorian Rovers feature, the history pages feature season 1984/85 and also looks at programmes from that season as well as a glance at what we were listening to back then.

In addition, you can discover what football supporters were reading back in 1957 and fast forward to season 1994/95 as Rovers went on a journey that would eventually lead to Wembley.

There’s an eclectic mix of articles from a range of contributors, all of them Rovers supporters, so if you haven’t previously purchased a matchday programme when you’ve come to a game, try it tonight – you might be pleasantly surprised!
