BRISTOL ROVERS SIGN NATHAN BLISSETT

20 November 2014

Subject to a satisfactory medical examination, Bristol Rovers have completed the loan signing of Kidderminster Harriers striker Nathan Blissett, a deal which will become permanent in January of next year.

Nathan makes a swift return to the Memorial Stadium having scored for the Harriers in last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Rovers.

The 24 year old nephew of former Watford, AC Milan and England front man Luther, has been with Kidderminster since the summer of 2012 when he joined them from Northern Premier First Division outfit Romulus, for whom he scored 13 goals in 34 games.

Since then he has been out on loan at Hedensford and Cambridge United, but has gradually established himself as a regular in the Kidderminster lineup and in 59 league games for the Harriers has netted ten goals.

Speaking of his new signing, manager Darrell Clarke said; "Nathan will add a different dimension to our squad and provides us with another attacking option.

“Our supporters were able to see him in action against us last Saturday and will be aware of his potential and that he is an exciting talent. I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”

Chairman Nick Higgs said; “We have been monitoring Nathan’s progress quite closely for over two months and Marcus Stewart has been to see him play while Darrell has received a number of positive reports on him.

“We have paid a substantial fee to secure his services, beating off interest from a number of league clubs for his signature.

“Nathan feels that he will benefit from joining Rovers and we are delighted to have signed a player with the potential to progress his career and help us regain our place in the Football League.”
