Kacper Łopata joined Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan from Sky Bet League One side Barnsley in August 2025.
The centre-back was born in Kraków, Poland, but moved to Bristol as a youngster. He played for junior teams for St Vallier City, Southampton, Bristol City, Yeovil Town and Brighton and Hove Albion.
He started his professional career at the Seagulls after signing a two-year deal in 2018, representing Albion’s U18s before loans with Isthmian League South East Division side Whitehawk and Polish I liga side Zagłębie Sosnowiec.
He was released from Brighton and signed for Sheffield United for a brief stint. He then joined Southend United on loan in 2021, playing 18 games for them, and signed for the Shrimpers in 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
Łopata shortly moved to Woking until the end of the 2022/23 campaign, after making 26 more appearances for Southend, and then made the move to Barnsley on a four-year deal.
He made 13 appearances for Barnsley and was on loan to Port Vale in 2024, as well as being on loan to Scottish Championship side Ross County, before moving on loan to Bristol Rovers in the 2025/26 season.
