Former Bristol Rovers player Marcus Stewart and Team Stewart will embark on their latest charity fundraiser in the Stewart’s Sports Tour on Saturday 20 July!
Former striker Stewart was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2022. Ever since, he and wife Louise - as Team Stewart - have worked tirelessly and passionately to increase public awareness of the condition, while raising over £430,000 in 18 months of campaigning.
The Stewarts will now undertake another exerting walking challenge later this month, this time around Bristol. The Stewart’s Sports Tour will start and finish at Rovers’ Memorial Stadium and travel 17 miles around the city - visiting other notable sporting venues - in a bid to raise further much-needed funds.
Taking place on Saturday 20 July 2024, 56 teams of up to six walkers will begin their journey across the city from The Mem and take the groups across to Bristol Flyers, Bristol Storm, Broad Plain Rugby Club, Ashton Gate and the Seat Unique Stadium before returning to Rovers.
The Thatcher's Bar at The Mem will be open to greet the returning walkers, as well as any fans wishing to be in attendance, with food able to purchase from Irene's from 4.30pm.
