Rovers to face Cambridge in Vertu Trophy Round Of 32

Bristol Rovers have been drawn to face Cambridge United in the 2025/26 Vertu Trophy Round Of 32.

The Gas will welcome Cambridge to The Memorial Stadium in the week commencing December 1 2025. The exact time and date of the fixture will be confirmed in due course, as will ticket information.

Darrell Clarke's Pirates secured passage to the knock-out phase of the Vertu Trophy after earning eight points from three matches played in Southern Group B. Rovers fought back to claim a 4-4 draw with Tottenham Hotspur U21s in the first fixture, before securing an extra point with victory in the penalty shoot-out. 

Luke Thomas got the only goal of the game when Rovers defeated Cheltenham Town in early October in the second group fixture, before Kamil Conteh's late finish got all three points at home to Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday 11 November. 

Finishing top of the group guaranteed Rovers a home tie in the Round Of 32 and a spot in the final 16 will be up for grabs when The U's visit BS7 in the first week of December. 

The two teams have already met twice this season, both at The Mem. Cambridge ran out winners in the Carabao Cup First Round South in early August before Ellis Harrison grabbed the only goal in a 1-0 league win for the Gas on Saturday 23 August.
