Friday night will live long in Reiss Russell-Denny's memory.
After scoring his first Bristol Rovers goal in the Gas' 3-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League Two, the midfielder got on the scoresheet for the first time at The Memorial Stadium against Cambridge United in the Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper.
The 20-year-old broke the deadlock with a fine finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box in the second half, with Fabrizio Cavegn adding a second later on to complete Rovers' 2-0 victory.
It has been a moment Russell-Denny has had to be patient for, with the Tottenham Hotspur loanee having to wait for chances in the team, but in his third start in the blue-and-white quarters, he made it count.
With the Gas beating a team from Sky Bet League Two to end their seven-match winless streak, Russell-Denny wants his side to take the momentum into the league.
