Seasoned referee Thomas Parsons will officiate this weekend’s Sky Bet League Two match between Bristol Rovers and Tranmere Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.
Overseeing matches in the National League, Sky Bet League Two and Sky Bet League One, as well as numerous Emirates FA Cup matches, Thomas Parsons has refereed over 200 matches at the top level.
His most recent fixture was the Sky Bet League One clash between Doncaster and Burton Albion on Saturday 4 October 2025. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, and two yellow cards were awarded.
He has refereed one Sky Bet League Two match in the 2025/26 season, which was between Harrogate Town and Crawley in September, with the Red Devils winning with a narrow 1-0 victory. Five yellow cards were awarded alongside one red card. Overall, he has overseen 44 matches in the fourth tier, more than any other competition.
Parsons has refereed five Rovers matches in his career, with the most recent being the Gas' 1-0 defeat to Crawley at Broadfield Stadium last term. The Pirates' previous win with Parsons as referee came in the 2023/24 campaign, with Chris Martin and Scott Sinclair scoring in a 2-1 triumph over Carlisle United.
Alongside him will be assistant referees James Tewson and Matthew Jones. Steven Plane has been appointed as the fourth official.
