Bromley Preview

Bromley v Bristol Rovers
Emirates FA Cup, The CopperJax Community Stadium, Saturday 1 November 2025, 3:00pm KO

Bristol Rovers will start their Emirates FA Cup campaign away to fellow Sky Bet League Two side Bromley at the CopperJax Community Stadium.

The Gas reached the third round of the competition last season, beating Weston-super-Mare 3-1 after extra time in the first-round last term. The Pirates then beat Barnsley on penalties to set up a clash against the then Premier League team Ipswich Town at Portman Road, falling to a 3-0 defeat.

Rovers have lost their last four fixtures in Sky Bet League Two and were defeated 4-0 by Crawley Town last weekend, so they will be searching for a positive result that could turn the momentum back in their favour.

Bromley impressed last Saturday and beat promotion hopefuls Milton Keynes Dons. Paul Warne's men gained a fifth-minute lead through Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, but the Ravens completed a second-half comeback through goals from Deji Elerewe and Omar Sowunmi.

Please note, this fixture will not be available to watch on BRTV.

Travel...

To drive from Bristol to Bromley’s CopperJax Community Stadium, start by joining the M32 northbound from central Bristol and merge onto the M4 eastbound toward London. Continue on the M4 for about 90 miles, then take the M25 clockwise (southbound) toward Gatwick and Dartford. Stay on the M25 for roughly 40 miles, then take Exit 4 for the A21 toward Bromley.

Follow the A21 through Farnborough and Locksbottom, continuing straight as it becomes Hastings Road and then Bromley Common. As you approach Bromley, follow local signs for the CopperJax Community Stadium.

The nearest train station to the stadium is Bromley South Station, which is around a 20-minute walk to the ground.

Opposition...

Bromley's promotion to Sky Bet League Two back in the 2023/24 season could not have been much more dramatic. After finishing in third place in the National League, the Ravens beat Altrincham 3-1 in the semi-finals of the playoffs to set up a final against Solihull Moors at Wembley.

In a final full of thrills, Bromley twice took the lead but Solihull found the equaliser on both occasions to take the game to extra time and then penalties. Captain Byron Webster took the stage for the decisive penalty, converting from the spot to take Bromley into the fourth tier for the first time in their 132-year history.

They had a solid first campaign under Andy Woodman, who has been their manager since 2021, finishing in 11th position and well away from any relegation danger. One reason for this was certainly Michael Cheek, who netted 25 goals in Sky Bet League Two, nine more than Doncaster Rovers' Luke Molyneux in second place. The striker has hit seven in 14 league outings this term and is up to 125 in 284 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Bromley have had another steady start to the 2025/26 campaign, collecting 21 points from 14 matches and have won two of their previous three games.

The Ravens also reached the third round of the Emirates FA Cup last term, beating Rochdale and Solihull Moors on the road before losing 3-1 to Champions League side Newcastle United at St James' Park. It was the first time Bromley had ever played Premier League opposition, taking the lead inside eight minutes before falling to defeat.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers have only faced Bromley twice in a competitive fixture, with both games coming in the same season in the Emirates FA Cup. After a 0-0 draw at The Memorial Stadium in the 2019/20 campaign, the Pirates reached the second round of the competition after a 1-0 victory on the road in the replay, with Jonson Clarke-Harris scoring the only goal early on in the contest.
