Bristol Rovers v Shrewsbury Town
Sky Bet League Two, The Memorial Stadium, Tuesday 16 March 2026, 7:45pm KO
Bristol Rovers will look to return to winning ways when they host Shrewsbury Town at The Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Pirates had won three of their last four fixtures before a narrow defeat to Sky Bet League Two leaders Bromley on the weekend, with Will Hondermarck netting the only goal. Joe Quigley went close to levelling in the second half, blasting a volley over before Shaq Forde was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
However, the Gas are now back at The Mem, where they have been strong in recent weeks. Steve Evans' men have won four of their previous five games at home, beating local rivals Newport County and promotion hopefuls Walsall, Grimsby Town and Crewe Alexandra, scoring at least twice in every fixture in that run.
Shrewsbury lost their last fixture, falling to a 2-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town after goals from Jordan Thomas and Sam Sherring.

Opposition...
What a job Gavin Cowan has done at Shrewsbury. The 44-year-old joined the Shrews from Brackley Town in late January, with the Club only two points above the relegation zone and on a run of one win in 11 matches under previous head coach Michael Appleton.
After a goalless draw with Barnet and an away defeat to Colchester United, Salop then won five straight games in the fourth tier, with impressive victories over Swindon Town, Notts County and Salford City.
They have since lost two of their previous three games, but are on a healthy 41 points, 12 points above the relegation zone, with any fears of falling into the bottom two now a distant memory. However, Cowan will not celebrate the start of his reign until they are mathematically safe, with games against Newport County, Tranmere Rovers, and Crawley Town to come in the run-in.
Previous Meetings...
Gasheads will have happy memories of the reverse fixture against Shrewsbury this season. After a quiet first half, where chances were few and far between at the Croud Meadow, Fabrizio Cavegn scored a hat-trick to help Evans claim his first win as Rovers' Head Coach.
The Pirates are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Shrewsbury, winning three and drawing two, keeping a clean sheet each time. Additionally, Shrewsbury have only won two of their last 24 Football League away games against Rovers (drawing eight and losing 14), winning 2-1 in February 2018 and 1-0 in February 2020.
History is not in Shrewsbury's favour, but they have won their last three away games, so they will be looking to make it four on the bounce for the first time since March 2018.
Free hot drinks...
As a small gesture of thanks, we are also pleased to offer supporters free hot drinks up until kick-off in all home areas of the stadium. Gasheads can grab a free tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
