Bristol Rovers v Plymouth Argyle
FA Women’s National League Cup, National League, Yate Town FC, Sunday 28th September, 2:00 pm.

The Gas Girls head into the match with confidence, after back-to-back victories in both the league and cup competitions.

In their penultimate FAWNL Cup fixture, Rovers faced Bridgwater United and, despite conceding their first goal of the season, produced a dominant 4-1 victory. Manager Nathan Hallett-Young admitted that parts of the performance were “frustrating,” but emphasised that the team’s focus remains on “scoring goals, winning games and performing as best we possibly can.”

That winning momentum carried into Sunday’s league fixture, where a second-half header from Laura Barrett sealed the three points and extended Rovers’ defensive record to five clean sheets in the league.

Post-match, Barrett reflected on her contribution and her priorities for the rest of the season. While pleased to score the decisive goal, she stressed that for her, clean sheets are the most important factor - alongside maintaining the team’s strong performances.
