Bristol Rovers WFC v Fulham F.C Women, The Adobe Women's FA Cup, The Memorial Stadium, Sunday 23rd November, KO 2pm
The Gas Girls will be looking to build on last year’s history-making cup run, where they reached the fourth round for the first time. With momentum behind them and a place in the next round at stake, Rovers will be hoping for another memorable afternoon at The Mem.
They enter the weekend following a narrow league defeat to Moneyfields last weekend - a tightly contested match that ended 1-0 in favour of the league’s second-placed side. Despite the result, Rovers delivered a strong performance and will take confidence from their effort.
This week, the Gas Girls turn their focus back to the FA Cup, a competition in which they have repeatedly showcased their quality. Their first-round fixture saw a dominant 6–1 victory over Marine Plymouth Academy, with Meg Jarvis netting twice. Jarvis enjoyed an impressive scoring run in last season’s cup campaign too, helping drive Rovers to the fourth round and a meeting with WSL giants Aston Villa.
After such a strong and confident start in round one, the Gas Girls travelled to the capital to face Haringey Borough Women - and returned home celebrating a 3-0 victory. Jarvis struck early once again, making no mistake as she put Rovers ahead inside just two minutes. In the second half, Chloe Bassett added to her growing goal tally this season, before Maisy Collis capped off the win in added time, sealing a well-earned victory and Rovers’ place in the third round.

Opposition...
Now known as Fulham FC Women, the club was originally founded in 1993 before being dissolved in 2006 and later re-established with independence from the men’s side. The team folded once again in 2012, before reforming as Fulham FC Foundation Ladies in 2014, and eventually returning under their current name in 2018.
Back in the 2002–03 season, Fulham enjoyed one of the most successful campaigns in their history, winning the treble of the FA Women’s Cup, League Cup, and Premier League, scoring an impressive 68 goals and conceding just 13. In more recent years, after three consecutive third place finishes in the regional league, Fulham now compete in Division One South East, and have entered the season in winning form.
They currently sit top of their league table. They have recorded eight wins and one draw so far, collecting 25 points and scoring 28 goals. Their performances to date highlight both strong attacking power and a solid defensive display. Like Rovers, they have also excelled in the FA Cup this season - first securing a 5–0 victory over South London, before earning their place in the third round with a 4–2 win against AFC Sudbury.
