Exeter Women Preview

Bristol Rovers v Exeter City
Pre-Season Friendly, Mangotsfield United Football Club, Tuesday 5th August, 19:45pm.

Bristol Rovers Women continue their pre-season schedule by hosting Tier Three side Exeter City at Mangotsfield United, for the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

The Gas Girls opened their summer with convincing wins over Paulton Rovers and Bath City, before playing out a competitive draw against Welsh champions Cardiff City. Most recently, they fell to a strong Stoke City side from the Northern Premier Division, and now have just two fixtures remaining before the new FA Women’s National League season kicks off.

The Grecians got their summer schedule off to the perfect start, defeating Welsh champions Cardiff City 2-1 at Exwick thanks to brilliant goals from Ishbel Zuurmond and Amber Pollock.

Travel...

Cossham Street is easily accessible by public transport, car, or bike. Supporters can take the 49, 49X, or 534 buses from Bristol city centre, which stop just a short walk from the ground. From Bristol Parkway, the 534 bus offers a direct route. For those driving, the ground is around 15 minutes from central Bristol via the A4174, with limited parking available nearby. Cyclists and walkers can also use the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, which passes close to the stadium.

Opposition...

The Grecians secured promotion to the third tier, for the first time, on the final day of the league campaign in the 2023/24 season. A draw against fellow title contenders AFC Bournemouth ended the Grecians’ season with just four points dropped from a possible 66, claiming a place in the National League Southern Premier Division.
