Bristol Rovers v Crewe Alexandra
Sky Bet League Two, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 7 March 2026, 3:00pm KO
Bristol Rovers are back in action at The Memorial Stadium on Saturday as they welcome Crewe Alexandra in Sky Bet League Two.
The Gas will be full of confidence after collecting four points from their previous two games in the fourth tier. The Pirates claim their third win in four home fixtures with an impressive 3-1 victory over promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town before a 1-1 draw with local rivals Swindon Town last time out.
In what was a fierce fixture at the Nigel Eady County Ground, Kane Thompson-Sommers sent the 2,315 Gasheads into jubilation with his fine run and finish to give the Gas the lead before Ollie Palmer levelled in the second half.
Crewe are still fighting to secure their place in the playoff spots. The Railwaymen's win over Tranmere Rovers last time out was a step in the right direction, with two late goals from Conor Thomas and Josh March earning Crewe a 2-1 comeback victory.

Opposition...
Crewe have had a great season so far, picking up 1.6 points on average per game under long-serving boss Lee Bell, leaving them just inside the play-off spots in seventh place with 56 points.
They are looking to return to Sky Bet League One for the first time since the 2021/22 season, twice finishing 13th in the fourth tier whilst losing in the play-off final to Crawley Town in the 2023/24 campaign.
Having won five of their last seven games, Crewe are one of the most in-form teams in the whole of Sky Bet League Two, only losing once in that time to Fleetwood Town after the only goal of the game came from Mark Helm for the visiting Fleetwood.
Bell’s side were not too busy in the January window, only securing the signatures of Ian Lawlor from Doncaster Rovers and Alfie Pond on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, proving there is a lot of confidence in their current squad.
In the Railwaymen’s last game against Tranmere, they fell behind just before half-time at the hands of James Plant on Tranmere’s left-hand side. However, as the game approached the final ten minutes, substitute Conor Thomas got the home side back on terms before a 91st-minute winner from Josh March earnt all three points.
Previous Meetings...
The most recent meeting between the two clubs was back in December as Steve Evans took charge of the Gas for the first time.
The game finished level after two first-half goals, with Emre Tezgel giving Crewe an early lead before Callum Morton levelled with an instinctive touch around the goalkeeper and finish.
The Pirates have only won one of their last five meetings with the Railwaymen, that win coming in the Emirates FA Cup in 2023 as Rovers put away four goals from John Marquis, James Wilson, Antony Evans, and an own goal from Ryan Cooney, allowing the Gas to progress to the next round. The Gas' last league victory at home against Crewe was in 1996.
