Bristol Rovers v Bristol City PGA
Gloucestershire FA County Cup, SGS Wise Campus, Sunday 18th January 2026, 2:00pm KO
After what was due to be their first fixture of 2026 against Bridgewater was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the Gas Girls will now begin their year against Bristol City Academy.
Rovers ended 2025 on a high with two strong victories in December. They began the month with an impressive four-goal home win over Maidenhead before rounding off the year with a hard-fought 1–0 away victory against Ascot United. December Player of the Month Chloe Bassett sealed the win inside the opening three minutes, ensuring Rovers carry positive momentum into the new year.
The revised opener presents a challenging test, with Bristol City Academy offering a young side eager to make an impression. For the Gas Girls, the fixture provides an opportunity to regain match sharpness and set the tone for the crucial months ahead, as they continue a final battle for promotion.

Opposition...
In cup competition, Bristol City PGA have experienced mixed results. They narrowly lost 4-3 to league leaders Swindon, despite Ella Smith opening the scoring inside the first four minutes. Unfortunately, they then suffered a 4–0 defeat to a strong Gwalia side.
That setback was followed by a dramatic 3-0 victory over Keynsham, secured by three extremely late goals. Indie Power struck in added time, and Chloe Giddings netted twice - once in the 89th minute and again in stoppage time - to seal the win. Their cup run ultimately came to an end with a 4-1 defeat against another top side, Moneyfields.
Previous Meetings...
This meeting marks the second Bristol Women's derby after last season's Semi-final in the Gloucestershire FA County Cup.
Heads were scratched both in the home and away dugouts as City’s first goal went in after the linesman raised his flag for offside, but the referee allowed play to continue. The Gas eventually fell to a 2-1 loss.
