Bristol Rovers v Bridgwater United
Women's National League, Yate Town FC, Sunday 4th January 2026, 2:00pm KO

Rovers ended 2025 on a high with two strong victories in December. Opposition...

Bridgwater currently sit in fifth place, two spots behind the Gas Girls, but with two games in hand. Their season has been mixed so far, beginning with an opening-day defeat, followed by five wins, two draws and two more losses.

The end of 2025 proved less successful for Bridgwater. They failed to score in December, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth before a 2-0 loss against league leaders Moneyfields, and will be eager to begin the new year on a more positive note.

Previous Meetings...

The two sides met earlier this season in the league, with the match ending in a goalless draw – Rovers’ first and only draw of the campaign. They met again in the cup, where the Gas Girls took the upper hand with a strong 4-1 victory, although it did mark Rovers’ first goal conceded of the season.

Last season, both teams claimed a win apiece. Rovers took the first meeting with a dominant 4-0 home victory, with Meg Javis scoring twice, while Bridgwater edged the return fixture 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal. Despite scoring twice against Bridgwater last season, Javis will not feature for the Gas Girls and could instead line up for the opposition this weekend after opting to spend the remainder of the season with Bridgwater.
