Bristol Rovers v Accrington Stanley
Sky Bet League Two, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 28 March 2026, 3:00pm KO
Bristol Rovers will be looking to continue their strong home form when they welcome Accrington Stanley to The Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Pirates have had a strong March, beating Crewe Alexandra, Barrow, Shrewsbury Town and Gillingham, with their only defeat coming to Sky Bet League Two leader Barrow.
Last time out, the Gas came from behind to beat Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium. Ronan Hale broke the deadlock for the Gills before the Gas turned it around in the second half. Shortly after Steve Evans made four substitutions at half-time, Alfie Kilgour headed in the leveller before Ellis Harrison netted from close range to complete the comeback.
Accrington lost 1-0 at home to Chesterfield in their previous match, with Will Dickson scoring the only goal.

Opposition...
Since their return to the Football League in 2006, Accrington have moved between the third and fourth tier. A brace from striker Billy Kee, over Yeovil Town, saw Accy secure automatic promotion to Sky Bet League One in the 2017/18 season, for the first time in their history.
The Reds spent five seasons in the third tier of English football until their relegation in the 2022/23 season after finishing second from bottom in Sky Bet League One.
The ‘Owd Reds currently sit 15th in the Sky Bet League Two and are coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat against Chesterfield. Saturday's visitors have been in a tough run of form, winless in their previous seven outings, with five losses and two draws, their last victory coming at Tranmere Rovers midway through February.
Previous Meetings...
The Gas first played Accrington Stanley in 2006, earning a comfortable 4-0 victory in their late December clash. Despite Byron Anthony’s early effort being offside, minutes later, Richard Walker broke the deadlock after converting Andy Sandell’s cross in the sixth minute. A free-kick and a penalty put the Gas in good stead, and a late strike from Stuart Nicholson secured the victory.
The two sides last faced off in November of last year, with the Pirates’ trip to Lancashire ending in a 3-1 defeat. Shaun Walley’s cross was found by Everton loanee Isaac Heath in the sixth minute. Despite Kamil Conteh finding the leveller in the second half, two strikes by Stanley’s Farrend Rawson and Isaac Sinclair, five minutes apart, gave the hosts the three points.
Bristol Rovers last won against Accrington in March 2021, with a firm 4-1 victory, thanks to Luke Leahy’s 14th-minute strike. Alex Rodman sent the ball into the back of the net in the final minutes of the first half’s added time, and efforts from Sam Nicholson and Zain Westbrooke two minutes apart led the Gas to a comfortable victory.
Following a corner, Accy’s Paul Smyth netted a goal, but was unable to level the score. Accy have a superb record against Rovers, winning 12 and drawing three of their 18 matches.
