The Bees gained the lead inside 15 minutes through Adam Senior, who headed in from close range after latching onto Ryan Glover's cross from the left.
The Pirates then had two opportunities to level the contest. Luke Thomas lifted a shot over before Fabrizio Cavegn forced Cieran Slicker into a low save down to his left. Nnamdi Ofoborh then doubled Barnet's lead soon after with a fine finish from the edge of the box.
The Pirates improved after the break but could not find a way back in the contest. Instead, the hosts extended their lead. Mark Shelton converted from the spot before Callum Stead completed the scoring with a matter of minutes left to play.
